WIP Wednesday: Zig Zaggin'

I love small quilts! They sew together quickly and you feel so accomplished. I spent some time today assembling my ombre dot quilt to make some progress for WIP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced

(I went with the chevon layout--thanks for all the opinions, everyone!)
Then, since went so fast, I started quilting.

So far I've simply quilted parallel lines 1/2" past the zig zag seams.
What do you think? Leave it as is, or continue quilting zig zag lines? I'm undecided at the moment.

Love this orange on the back!

Looking forward to finishing this!
If you want to make one too, check out the Sew Along over at Sew Fine Fabric

  2. I love that orange backing too - it really works with the teal. I also love the quilting on it. Very simple for effective!

  3. The colors are so yummy. Orange is my favorite...well that one and red, blue, green, purple.... ;)
I think if you quilt zig zag lines on every other set of chevrons it would look cool.
    Nice quilt!

  4. I love it. I want more lines! :-) I just love the juxtaposition of the dots and zigzags.

  5. That turned out wonderful and love the zig zag quilting. Who would have thought that wonderful ombre dot would turn out sooo cool! Think the zig zag every other chevron row would be nice, but what to do with the alternating rows. Hmmmm!

  6. Love this quilt, if it was me I think I would do the zig zag completely on the row with the fewest dots, so that would be every third row. Just to give a little interest!

  8. Lovely! It is great... I am sure it will be nice either way, I am more of a minimalist when it comes to quilting, so I would probably stop there... but alternating would be nice.

  9. It looks great! Maybe quilt the lighter zig zags and leave the darker ones? That will show them up beautifully I reckon.

  10. I agree that every other zig zag needs more lines! Even without them it looks great!`

  11. Hi Ellie,

I saw this quilt on a flikr site (I think) - I tracked your blog down and immediately became a follower! Great work.

  12. Do you know the name of that random dot aqua material? Or do you know where to get it?
