OMG: New Wonky Quilt

I've had an idea for a new wonky quilt for a while now, and finally got the chance to start it. The black and white sections are pieced, but could easily be replaced with a stripe. When I finish it, this quilt will be my newest pattern, as well as the workshop I'll be teaching at the Great Lakes Modern Quilt Guild at the end of April. It's no surprise, then, that my March One Monthly Goal is to finish piecing the quilt top!

I'm trying a multicolor version:

And a single color version:

Which do you like better? I started out leaning toward the multicolor version, but this calmer version has really been growing on me!

  1. Both are great, but if you are leaning towards the calmer version, why not do most of the blocks in a single color and throw in the wilder blocks you have already made for a little spice?

  2. These blocks look so much fun! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck with your project.
